Our very first Working Bee at Agora Hideaway was nothing short of incredible! Over a weekend, we welcomed 16 hardworking volunteers who helped us make a real dent in our vision for the campgrounds. Together, we managed to clear 70% of the top paddock of rocks, now known as “Hark Yakka Flats.” The progress was outstanding, and we couldn’t have done it without the enthusiasm and dedication of everyone involved.

A special shout-out goes to the team from @salute_australia, who generously stayed on for a few extra days. Their extra hands made a massive difference in the final push, getting us so much closer to our goal than we ever expected. We’re truly grateful for their hard work and commitment!

On Saturday evening, we celebrated with a well-deserved BBQ, featuring bread from the local bakery, meat patties and sausages from nearby producers, and fresh salads sourced from local farmers. The food was a big hit, and it was fantastic to share a meal with such a great group of people.

Of course, it wasn’t all hard work! The afternoons were filled with laughter as the kids cooled off in the water, the adults enjoyed a few drinks, and we all gathered around a communal fire to share stories and relax after a busy day (with S’mores of course!).

To everyone who came along—thank you! We couldn’t do this alone, and we feel incredibly lucky to have such a supportive and enthusiastic community around us. Your efforts made this Working Bee a success, and we can’t wait to see what we achieve together in the future!

Until next time,
Chris & Sian
