At Agora Hideaway, we’re all about creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone. After listening to your feedback, we’ve made a big decision: we’re lowering our prices from $25 per person per night to $18. And as always, kids up to 16 years old stay for free.

Listening to Your Feedback
We received some feedback that our previous rate felt a little steep, especially given that we’re still in the process of developing more facilities. Senior travellers in particular mentioned that they simply couldn’t afford the price. We get it. Times are tough for everyone, and we want to make sure our campsite is accessible to all kinds of campers.
The Reality of Starting a Remote Campground
One fun fact you might not know: buying land remotely comes with its own set of challenges. For starters, banks won’t offer home loans for land alone—so we bought the property outright. If you can get a loan at all, it typically requires a minimum 40% deposit! From there, setting up a campground isn’t as simple as pitching tents and opening the gates. There are a lot of overhead expenses, like public liability insurance, council fees for development approvals, website hosting fees, and saving for amenities like toilets, irrigation lines, and water tanks! You’d be surprised at how much a simple toilet block can cost. And on top of all that, we’re also managing the costs of building our forever home in this remote location.
We’ve been pouring a lot into this project, both financially and with our time, because we’re passionate about giving people a place to enjoy nature. That said, we’re not cutting corners when it comes to safety and comfort, and we’re committed to upgrading facilities over time.
Why We’re Changing the Price
Our original pricing of $25 per night was set with the aim of funding future upgrades and amenities as quickly as possible. However, we now realise that if the price is too high for some travellers, it’s not doing anyone any favours. So, we’ve made the decision to lower our prices and instead stretch out our timeline for improvements.
At $18 per person per night, we believe this new rate strikes a better balance—it makes Agora Hideaway more accessible while still allowing us to grow and improve the site over time. Yes, things like additional amenities might take a bit longer to implement, but with the number of bookings expected to increase, we’ll eventually get there.
What About Those Who’ve Already Booked?
For anyone who has already booked at the original rate, don’t worry! We’ll be refunding the difference in price so you can enjoy your stay at the lower rate. It’s our way of showing appreciation for your support and making sure everyone benefits from this change. Keep an eye out for your refund this week.
